View 1 RepliesI've been having pain in my right lower abdomen for some time now and did some tests and all seem clear. Today I went to a surgeon who tested me and said all feels very normal. Since my dad had colon cancer at 56 he suggested I do a colonoscopy just to make sure there is nothing. I need to wait till the 20th April and I'm already freaking out. Will they tell me immediately after the colonoscopy if something is wrong? I'm 39 with 2 kids and always assume the worst that I have cancer.
View 37 RepliesI went to the hospital a week ago and was diagnosed with a UTI. Since then I've continued to have sharp pain in the lower left area of my abdomen, under my ribcage (and just general side pain and some bloating)- and a dull pain in my back. Along with that, for the past couple of days I've felt nauseous off and on, weak, extremely tired, and today I felt like I was close to passing out when I was in a store. Could this still just be the UTI? Or possibly now moved on to a Kidney Infection, or... Thoughts?

View 4 RepliesI'm a 18 year old guy with no previous illnesses of any kind, don't drink/smoke, etc. Except not exercising and sleep irregularly, I'm pretty okay with lifestyle.
I had the symptoms of a UTI one day (first time in my life) with symptoms of blood in urine and lower abdomen pain. My doctor diagnosed it as prostatitis and gave me antibiotics for a month.
I never had the symptoms again since the first day of antibiotics, but now that I'm 3 weeks in, I'm feeling new symptoms like hesitation to go urinate, want to go urinate more often, etc.... Maybe it's my mind playing with me, but I FEEL like my bladders feel a little weird. Like, it feels... full? There's no pain at all, except perhaps minor irritation in my testes.
So now I'm really wondering if I should go see the doctor again, mostly in fear of potential kidney damages (urea poisoning a possibility?) I don't have insurance, but won't hesitate to stomach the bill myself if need be. Since I don't want to end up in the ER, or die...
In my last 2 cycles I have noticed more changes than usual for me. I have started spotting about a week before my period and have pain almost from ovulation onward each cycle. I have been tired most of the time, temps are all over the place even after ovulation, have a combo of diarrhea and constipation as well as an influx of acne. I do have a Drs appointment but I have to wait a month to see her. Anyone else had anything similar? I usually have painful periods but not usually all month long and many symptoms of Endo, just never been diagnosed with it as of yet.

It sometimes feels like a bloating feeling, but it is painful. (I have had problems of painful cramps during my period and my doctor has put me on oral contraceptives.) Is he being too rough, or is there something else that is causing this pain?

While this wasn't true, I do have fluid in my uterus, and on top of that, my thyroid levels have dropped just over the past month. I think I may be pregnant, and my doctor seems to agree with me, but I'm not sure. I'm only nineteen. Are there any other reasons this stuff is happening or could it be that I'm pregnant?

View 1 RepliesSince finding out last month I have high cholesterol at 5.9(my doctor sent me away not concerned and said to test again in a year) I have became pregnant and now I am unsure how this affects my cholesterol and what can be done lifestyle wise to get it lower. I have been eating as normal since I have became pregnant as its been hard to cut back on all those things I shouldn't really have. Has anyone else got there's down while pregnant and if so how? I want to do it because I don't want it to affect my health but also I don't want to stop eating things I need to be eating to get a varied balanced diet while pregnant.
View 1 RepliesDec. 25 me and My boyfriend had unprotected sex, we were using the pullout method but I don't think he pulled out well about a week later we had sex again on the 27, 29, 30, and 31 we still used the same method. on the 27 we used a condom but it ended up coming off inside me (I got it out). And around the first of January I got a really small out of light pink discharge then later on that day it turned brown then stopped , this was weird because I don't spot before My period. the next day (jan. 2) I started bleeding really light and it lasted for about 5 days (My period was suppose to start around the 10) and I always have real bad pms symptoms but I didn't. couple days go by and I start getting real tired than before and I keep getting light headaches. My stomach begins to feel nauseous, and I get small cramps in My lower abdominal area right above My vagina. these feelings last for almost a week or two, and yesterday I happened to notice the area near My uterus (between the vagina and belly button) to look a little swollen My nipples darker (or I'm Just seeing stuff) I got diarrhea for about a day and now I keep getting little cramps in abdominal area. so I was wondering could I possibly be pregnant?

I recently had sex with my partner on Saturday (1-31-15). I know for a fact the he did come inside of me. I began to have a dull ache in my lower back on Monday (2-2-15). I do not have a kidney infection as I went to my dr just last week for a checkup and also had a urine test and everything was fine. I am not about to begin my period, as my last day of my period was last Tuesday (1-27-15). Would really like some answers to help ease my mind until it is closer to time when I should test for pregnancy.
I had an novasure ablation done in 2010 and have not had a menstrual cycle since however I have had a chemical pregnancy. I would like to know how to rebuild the lining in my uterus to stay pregnant.

View 2 RepliesI keep track of my period using a tracker, and it hasn't failed me yet- I'm always right on time, but last month that changed. My husband has been overseas for a year and just got back last month, the day my period was due, but it ended up being 5 days late. I put that into my tracker and it updated my "schedule" for this month.. But again, I'm almost 4 days late. We only use the pull out method, so I'm worried I might be pregnant. I've been experiencing lower back pain, and mild cramping like I have when my period is coming.. Also, there's a white discharge but I haven't noticed any spotting or anything like that. I'm wondering if it's the stress of having my husband home again after so long, or could my hormones possibly be messing up due to having sex regularly after not having it for a year? I've taken 4 home pregnancy tests and they've all been negative. They were all "early detection" tests and I took 2 before my period was due, one the day it was due, and one after I was 2 days late. Clear negatives. I really don't want to be pregnant right now and was planning on getting on birth control after this period.
View 14 RepliesI have just been diagnosed with Hemifacial Spasms at the age of 46 - since suffering from daily fluttering in my left eye. Thankfully at this stage it is still only affecting the left eye (I have had this since May last year) and hasn't spread anywhere else. I am beside myself with panic that I am going to end up abnormally deformed and disfigured very soon as it does start to include the rest of the face. Can anyone give a complete novice regarding HFS some advice. I only got the letter yesterday and don't see my Consultant until April and I am out of my mind at the outlook prognosis and what to expect. Is it really going to leave me looking disfigured permanently?
View 54 RepliesFor over a year now I have been suffering with severe back pain, some days worse than others, recently it has been hard to get through the day, I am on tramadol and an anti inflammatory tablet - recently my Doctor put me on gabapentin, within minutes I had a headache and cough - within hours I started to suffer from "fluttering" in my chest - having only taken a few tablets I decided I would rather put up with the back pain than the side effects - has anyone else had any of the same problems.
View 1 RepliesI am suffering terrible fluttering in both legs below the knee, sometimes the back of the knee too. The fluttering then explodes into a cramp in one muscle which spreads to one or more others as I try to manipulate or stretch the first. The cramps are agonizing and last for up to 10 mins! When they finally subside the fluttering returns and the cycle keeps repeating itself. Rest and cold are sometimes factors. I would say I'm generally healthy and fit, I don't drink much water and sometimes I wonder if coca cola or diet coke make if worse. I have also recently done atkins diet but have been eating normally for a week or more. I can go weeks with no cramps then be plagued for a month! Its driving me mad and keeping me awake! HELP!!
