Gilberts Syndrome :: Severe Nausau And Vomiting During Exercise

Sep 28, 2015

I was diagnosed with GS about 15yrs ago when I was playing high school football. Got to noticing during wind sprints at practice I'd lose energy and get very sick to my stomach. So much so that I would throw up. This went on for weeks until my coach advised me to get a check up. After weeks of blood tests the Dr. diagnosed me with GS.

Now at 31yrs old if the outside temp is higher than about 75 or 80 and I'm doing some type of strenuous activity for a long period of time I'll get sick. I also race dirt bikes off road, its very common for me to throw up several times after a race if its warm/hot outside and/or I get extremely tired. The nausea is the worst pain I've ever had by far, almost to the point of blacking out. Once I throw up the pain will stop for 20mins or so then comes back until I throw up again. Most times I will throw up three times before the pain will go away. Also either during or after the vomiting I'll have diarrhea once or twice. I'm hoping by coming on here I can find something to help me.  Like others on here I have night sweats from time to time also.

Bowel Disorders :: Severe Diarrhea And Vomiting

For the past 10 years I have had severe digestive issues. If I eat more than twice a day I will spend the majority of my day in the bathroom so I avoid eating especially during work hours. I also have a hard time drinking a lot of fluids and if I drink too much I end up vomiting? I have heartburn almost daily and ironically water seems to make it burn more than most beverages so I really don't drink near as much as I know I should. I have had several upper and lower scopes, colonoscopies, breath test and worked with nutritionist and they all are baffled and tell me nothing is medically wrong with me? I recently feel like im constantly on the verge of getting charlie horses in my legs, have random blurriness in my eyes and I'm just tired. I am broke out of my mind and quite frankly feel hopeless because even if they did find something I can't afford to treat it? I'm frustrated, scared and exhausted. I have no idea what is left that I can do?

Vomiting And Severe Back Pain - SI Joint?

I've been dealing with pain off and on in my low back wrapping around my hip bone on my left side. I have some burning in the back of my thigh and swelling of my leg.

This pain is excruciating when it comes on...sometimes it is manageable with meds and heat and other times I've landed in the ER with full on episodes of vomiting and pain off the charts.

I have had ovarian cysts and have been checked for those, negative. No kidney stones or masses showing in an abdominal CT. I did have SI Joint damage after an MVA years ago.

Is this possible this is SI joint pain? I was on long acting pain meds for years, only recently off them and that's when I've noticed an increase in pain. Perhaps the meds were masking the issue?

Cannabis Withdrawals :: Severe Migraines During Exercise

Began smoking weed daily around a year and a half ago and have now quit. Into day 13 now and i'm experiencing the regular symptoms, but one that concerns me is the severe migraines whenever I exercise. I'm a fitness buff, always have been, and it's really stopping me. I'm having to take Ibuprofen prior to every workout, but it doesn't stop there. Little things like climbing the stairs or sex are causing me a great deal of pain. I'm super-fit (10 mile runs/12 rounds boxing/weight lifting, you name it), I eat incredibly well, and i'm always well hydrated. I know this is a common symptom, but it's really stopping me do the things I love. I'm not about to relapse, i'm much stronger than that, I just wanted to know if there's anybody out there who suffered the same and for how long? There's a lot of stuff about migraines during withdrawals, but none specific to exercise in regards to cannabis from what I can see. Anybody out there feeling the same, persevere.

Restless Legs Syndrome :: Exercise - Buy Yourself A Dog And Walk

I’ve suffered RLS for 30-40 years now. I take Pramipexole. I offered to care for my daughter’s dog whilst she went on holiday. It’s a Pug about 2 feet tall. In the space of about 3-4 days, I must have walked that dog 10-15 miles. I was devastated when she wanted him back. Apparently he slept for 2 day’s. The following day I developed left sided hip Bursitis. The pain was excruciating. After 4 days of this pain, at 3 in the morning, I dialled 111. A doctor told me to take paracetamol. Around 10am later that day, I dialled 111 again and was referred to a primary care doctor who prescribed 30-500 co-codamol. Two day afterwards, the pain began to subside to a dull ache and 2 weeks later, no pain at all. Where’s all this going. Between the Bursitis pain starting and now, I have suffered hardly any RLS. Occasionally a little in the afternoons but that’s all. Apparently exercise helps to relieve RLS and I believe that is the case. However, I’m wondering if prolonged intense exercise gives more prolonged relief. Be aware of other conditions though. Particularly cardiac related. Discuss with your GP. I have reduced my Pramipexole from 4 tablets at 17.30 to 2. Still no RLS. The moral of the story. Buy yourself a dog and walk the hell out of it.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome :: Exhausted Following Little Exercise

I am a 32 year old female. My question relates to Exercise Intolerance. I am very unfit and am wanting to get fit for the first time in my life but whenever I start even an easy exercise program, I get really wiped out. I usually feel okay after my "workout" (barely a plausible term) session, but feel extremely fatigued the next day. Which interrupts my program. This can be very irregular tho, sometimes I can do quite a bit and feel fine the next day. I had bulimia, starting at age 17 for 10 years and am wondering if this is still the effects on my body. I have no other side effects from the bulimia. Apart from that I have suffered Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but these symptoms disappear if I don't exercise. I have had my heart and lungs checked out, blood tests etc, all come back fine. Can someone please, please shed some light as to why I get so exhausted following even a small amount of exercise. It doesnt seem to matter be it cardio or weights.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Triggered By Sports/Exercise?

I've had some form of IBS since I was around 15. I used to get it all the time and wasn't sure why.

Around 6 years ago it just stopped. I thought it was because I had some drastic changes in my life - career, home, love, etc - but then it came back about 3 years ago. I realised that it came on, very badly, the day after I had been to the gym. 6 years ago I stopped all exercise due to the above changes, as well as recovering from an op over a year.

I wasn't doing anything too heavy, just getting back into shape. I then remembered that from the age of 15 I had started doing martial arts, and over the years, added swimming and going to the gym exercise 5 or 6 times a week. This is when I was getting IBS symptoms daily.

Now even if I do any stretching around my lower abdomen, a few hours later I get painful IBS.

The doc said, on several visits, that exercise should make it better, and didn't seem to want to entertain it as a cause.

At first I thought it was foods and was cutting out anything that could trigger it, but this didn't help as there was no pattern when I was eating possible trigger foods.

Anyone else find that sports and/or exercise has triggered your IBS?

If there is another thread already discussing this please could someone direct me to it?

Sjogren's Syndrome :: Severe Mouth Dryness

I have sjogrens ad have for many years now. The other night I was eating and I alway drink before I take a bite of food. I started to eat and began choking on my food which got into my esophagus. It was stuck.i tried to get it to go down and tried to get it out. No luck. I was scared to death and in a panic. I called 911. Heard the sirens and said tis that for me? Yes the paramedics were there they took me to the ER at the hospital. They tried o give me two shots and a nito under my tongue. This was to relax the esophagus. That didn't work so ER doc called in an anesthesiologist to put me out and a gastrointestinal doctor to do an endoscopy. It was now 5 1/2 hours I was sure I was going to die. I was so so scared. It was sourdough bread. It was so good. But I will never eat it again . I have tried vovox and salavert but had side effects so had to stop taking. I don't know what to do unless I eat only soft foods. Does anyone have this problem or suggestion for what I can do. I don't want to become paranoid of food because it was so bad.

GERD :: Bad Flu (diarrhea, Vomiting, Etc.) With Reflux?

Woke up today feeling extremely bad. Had bad diarrhea, and was vomiting every liquid I was taking in - I don't know if I specifically had/have the "flu," but the symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, muscle weakness/aching, etc. seems to point to that conclusion. My reflux issues most likely worsened the ability to keep liquid down, and, as a result, I almost passed out from dehydration. Luckily, I am with my family, and am starting to take liquids down. I have good health insurance, should I need to visit the hospital if things get really bad.

I'm wondering if I should take any special considerations, or what other things you guys might suggest, as this has been pretty brutal on me today.

Trimethoprim :: Vomiting And Shaking Within 10 Minutes

My wife had a bladder infection (the second within a month) and was prescribed a 7 day course of trimethoprim. On the 7th day (having taken the last tablet) she began vomiting and shaking - within 10 minutes of this starting she become disorientated and lost her memory. She was immediately hospitalised and given a MRI scan of her brain plus various blood and urine tests but all tests proved negative. For 24 hours she suffered from extreme short term memory lose. She could not remember events that had happened just 10 seconds before hand. Very scary. I have found this web site on the second day and am relieved to see she is not alone and that the events she is experiencing are probably related to trimethoprim. 36 hours later she is still bed bound (now back at home) and has a bad headache and hot/cold sweats, neck pain and diarrhoea. Sleep seems to be the best aid but she is finding it difficult to sleep as her brain is a hive of activity trying to reconstruct the lost bits. The only drug she is now willing to take is paracetamol which helps a little. Thankfully her short term memory is now working again. How this drug has obtained a licence is a question that needs to be asked

Damages Of Self Induced Occasional Vomiting?

I know it isn't good to make oneself vomit. I know it can become a habit and can cause long term health problems. Theoretically, if one was able to limit themselves to once a week, is there likely and PHYSICAL danger in doing so? What, specifically, could happen to someone who only vomits once a week?

Crohn's Disease And Naproxen - Vomiting

I had my surgery in 98. I've been symptom free for over 10 years. I recently hurt my back at work and was prescribed Naproxen (Aleve) because of the new pain med laws. Well after taking it for a week, I just started vomiting large amounts of blood. I went to the ER and they were shocked to hear that this was prescribed this for my pain since they were aware I had Crohn's. Has anyone else had symptoms like this from Naproxen? Would it be a honest mistake or malpractice?
