Headaches :: Due To Stress And Lack Of Sleep?

Dec 4, 2014

I'm 16 and consider myself to be quite healthy. About two weeks ago I started to get headaches that have been constant every day (I still have them now). The pain is quite dull, the pain is not so bad that I can't continue with my daily activities but it's still there. They also come and go. I don't wake up in the middle of the night because of them but I get them constantly throughout the day.

After a week of having these headaches I went to my doctor who suggested it was stress and lack of sleep (I have just started college) but I'm not so sure. He also suggested it could be eye strain and advised me to go get my eyes tested which I am going to soon. I am worried it could be a brain tumor or another serious illness. What do you think?

Impotence? Lack Of Erection Due To Stress

My boyfriend and I have been together for 8 months now.  The sex (when it happens) is amazing!  However, let me backtrack a bit....Around the same time we got together, he also got a really important promotion at work, adding a ton of additional stress onto his already stressful job. We share an incredible chemistry but sometimes, when it comes down to intercourse, there is either a lack of erection or an erection that isn't cohesive to lovemaking:(  This isn't every time!  But the times it happens, I can't help but feel like its me.  He says its not me, but its only human nature for me to think it is.  I would totally marry this man and start a family!  But....what if this is what lies ahead for us?  Is this worth ending a relationship?  Is there a solution other than quitting his job?

Dry Mouth, Lack Of Sleep And Appetite - Sjogren's Syndrome?

I'm a 45 yr old woman.Had flu like symptom middle of March 2016. Since then was not able to keep food down for a month. In the last -4 weeks, I've got dry eyes, dry mouth, don't sleep fro more than 2-3 hours per night as I am woken by palpation and exhaustion. This morning I woke up with very tight feeling in my thigh muscles.I had to massage them to loosen them. In the morning, I have to eat as soon as I get up .even then I'm left with continuously feeling tired .Can't sleep it off . Slightest activity gives me palpitation and and exhausting feeling.Since Middle of March I've had various investigations (Ct head ,neck ,abdomen and pelvis, ultrasound scan of liver ,gastroscopy ,24 hour heart monitor ,heart echocardiogram -all normal)My bloods were normal too except for liver function (ALT and AST) which are improving too.I'm at my wits end .awaiting to see a rheumatologist who will hopefully shed some light. The worst part is not being able to sleep for more than 2-3 hours per night, the inability to move about without getting extreme exhaustion and the lack of appetite together with very dry mouth when eating.

Bipolar Affective Disorder :: Bad Anxiety And Lack Of Sleep

I have suffered with anx and depression for many years, but lately bipolar has been mentioned by my therapist. Could I run through my main symptoms and you kind people can give an opinion? I have bad anxiety most of the time, I don't have a classic high, my high is more about lack of need for sleep, don't seem to need much food, loads of creative work going on and I get really out of sorts if I'm interrupted. My downs happen generally after a high time of a few weeks, then I just crash out - don't want to do anything or talk to anyone

Hormone Replacement Therapy - Lack Of Sleep (menopausal For 12 Months)

I have been menopausal for 12 months or maybe longer so the doc thinks. I turned 50 last August and thought I could deal with all the symptoms but its driving me crazy now! Hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, anxiety......but the worse for me is the lack of sleep! This is awful! Its making me like a zombie and my eyes are black!! Such a vicious circle. Today I have had a long talk with my husband and we have talked about HRT! It makes me so scared about taking it but I am feeling so awful that I'm now considering it. Any ideas of a good low dose HRT that I can talk over with the doc. How has it been for you taking HRT?

Sleep Issues :: Vivid Dreams In A Small Room - Lack Of Oxygen?

Recently I've been sleeping in a very small room. Due to this I try to leave the door slightly open to allow more oxygen in as I'm concerned that the room is too small to sleep safely in overnight. However sometimes I can’t leave the door open - for example if we have guests staying over. I’ve found that when the door is closed all night I tend to dream more vividly. I'm wondering if I'm dreaming more due to a lack of oxygen?

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea :: Dizziness And Now Headaches

Hi. I have been suffering with vertigo/dizziness (mainly swaying feeling) for 11 months. The past few months my head has been very strained and tense and I have been getting headaches everyday. I can feel my whole brain in my head (mainly the top and back) and my head often pounds. Looking up my diagnosis of vestibular neuritis (VN) explains many of my symptoms of the past 11 months but I am getting used to the dizziness and fatigue but the head pain/pressure/strain is far worse than the dizziness now. The symptoms I am experiencing at the moment seem to be that of migraine associated vertigo (MAV) as the symptoms people are explaining for this seem to better explain what I have been experiencing the past few months .I wake everyday feeling dizzy and with a very strained head like my head is too small for my brain and it gets worse until I get a headache (my whole brain aches). The past week or so the headache goes by the next day but for a while it would take two days or more to go away before returning again.

I have had a XRay of my neck (clear), Eye check (needed glasses for first time), CT-Scan of head (clear), Paid to see private ENT specialist (said not much he could do. Suggested as fatigue is so severe and I am a heavy snorer for me to have a sleep study. Results say I have severe obstructive sleep apnoea AHI 32), Seen an NHS Audiologist (all hearing, eye, balance tests don't show any problem with my vestibular system/balance system)

I am waiting for an NHS basic sleep study before they consider me for a CPAP machine for sleep apnoea. I have an appointment to have an operation to have a deviated septum corrected as I cannot breath very well through one nostril. I also have an appointment to see an ENT specialist on the NHS in April. When I see my GP soon I will ask to go on the waiting list to see an Neuro-otologist as they specialise in the brain and migraines. The past few months I have cut out  caffeine from my diet and I eat very healthily attending slimming world and I have lost 6.5 stone in 16 months. It has not been easy losing weight when I have been ill and feeling low but I have made it my mission to lose weight since becoming dizzy. My heart goes out to anyone with this condition. It is an invisible illness and most people don't understand or believe you are unwell. Please stay positive. My life has changed dramatically the past year and I am house bound most days but I have learnt to appreciate the little I can do and the great friends I have. My hope is fading that someday I will wake to find this problem has gone but at least there is some hope still within me. Take care my dizzy friends and may we all recover from this hell in 2015 x

Sleep Disorders :: 3-6 Hours Of Sleep Until I Wake Up And Cant Go Back To Sleep

I'm 14 years old and yesterday school started after two weeks of holidays. I went to bed at 11 PM and woke up at 4 AM. I tried to go back to sleep but I just couldn't. At 6 AM I got up and got ready for school. After school I was really tired and took an hour long nap, but I was still extremely tired. I went to bed at 9 PM and fell asleep in a second. I woke up at 2:30 AM and tried my best to fall asleep, but it didn't work. Its 6 AM right now and Ive done some homework, as I couldnt do them yesterday because I was so tired. The thing is, this didn't happen in my holiday, and I get really cranky when I don't get enough sleep. Do I have insomnia?

Menopause :: Migraine Headaches And Pressure Headaches

I've been having migraine headaches, pressure headaches, dizziness and nausea. I kept chalking it all up to menopause. Because as most of you know, so many of these symptoms are menopause.

Last Friday, Jan 2nd at around 7:30PM my boyfriend and I were leaving a restaurant, suddenly I started getting shocks in my right leg like my leg was falling asleep, while I was walking to the car. This shocking feeling quickly radiated up my arm and into my head, all on the right side. My boyfriend quickly started toward the hospital. On the way I lost the ability to formulate sentences and words. I would say one sentence and a totally different sentence would come out. I would try to say one word and a totally different word came out. Being a former medic the only word I wanted to relay was "stroke". It felt like someone had tasted my right side. It was the most frightening thing I'd ever experienced and I was awake for the entire ride. After getting to the hospital I was in the ER for about 3 hours. Then sent to Neurology/Stroke ward. For the next few days I had a battery of MRI's, EEG, EKG's, CT Scans, Blood Work, Ultrasounds and a Spinal (Lumbar Punch). Within 6 or so hours I was able to formulate sentences and say words again. I forced myself the entire time. My right side started getting feeling back within a few days. I still have some numbness in my right hand and am experiencing peripheral neuropathy symptoms in my right leg and foot.

The neurologist found a mass in my brain. Thanks be to God that it is benign. I just found out yesterday that I am cancer free. However, they still don't know what the mass is. It could be a tumor or a jelly bean I stuffed in my nose as a child. (joking) But we won't know for a while. Also it might be inoperable too. I will be seeing the Dr on the 13th for an MRI Rx. In a month we'll do the MRI and see what has happened with this mass. Is the edema gone, has it shrunk or grown? Things like that.

Sleep Disorders :: Cannot Wake Up From Sleep

I'm diagnosed sleep apnea and since it's onset, have been unable to wake myself up. This includes alarm clocks, opening windows, setting a sleep schedule, etc. The ONLY way I can wake up is by somebody physically waking me up and that only works after the first couple of tries. First issue is when I hear an alarm clock, I move from whatever dream I'm in to a separate dream where I think I've woken myself up, but I keep trying to turn off the alarm clock and it won't turn off. Sometimes I realize I'm dreaming still and "wake up" into a 3rd or 4th dream that seems more real and have the same issues. Secondly, my body seems to require 13-16 hours of sleep in order to feel well rested and wake up naturally. I am using a cpap machine, however, I sort of sleep walk and remove the machine in my sleep. Any ideas on how I can become independent and wake up on my own?

Anxiety :: Lack Of Air In My Chest

I'm a 14 yr old girl and recently I'VE been feeling a lack of air in my chest that comes and goes. It's like okay when I'm distracted but right when I stop speaking that "empty feeling" in my chest comes again so I'd have to breathe in deeply to tell myself I'm ok. This happened ever since my asthma /anxiety attack 2 weeks or so ago and I took a blue puffer, but it finished and I'm better now but ever since I stopped this happened,,..

Depression :: Lack Of Energy

I don't know if it's anything to do with my depression, but I have absolutely no energy.  I move so slowly that I look like a 70 year old.  I feel wooly headed and don't fall asleep till at least 4 am every morning.  I'm wasting my life sleeping all day.  My doctor seems really disinterested in things and puts it down to my getting older.  It feels hopeless that I'm doomed to feel like this for the rest of my life.  Has anyone else had this feeling of living in slow motion?
